Perhaps a solution is at hand!

      You will remember our past efforts to collect money for the fitting of a cats’ home. The fund raising did not enable us to purchase appropriate rooms and we have always had to get by with small centres where we could host cats in need of care and assistance.

      In recent years we have worked hard and with good results, but we still need a better organization. We must host, sometimes for lifelong periods, cats who are difficult to adopt, as well as urgent hospitalizations of ownerless or evicted animals, or rescued cats whose life has been endangered by poison or similar cruelties. Such concrete interventions urgently require an Animal Sanctuary (we do not like the word cats’ home!) for these particularly unlucky animals. You should consider that we take over evicted people who have been turned out on the street with their animals, as well as cats and dogs whose owners have died. As you all can imagine, the Foundation bears heavy and increasing expenses!

      Even the sum the Franca Melchiori Fasan - ONLUS Foundation has made available is insufficient for the purchase of a refuge, no matter how small. Law-imposed rules provide for the purchase of an isolated building surrounded by a large piece of land. The building must be refurbished both to conform it to hygienic regulations in force, and to fit a small but equipped clinic. We have realized, both through personal search, and also with the help of estate agencies and brokers, that our means are frightfully insufficient to purchase the proper structure.

      Lately, a rigorously anonymous benefactor has offered a solution by loaning us in permanent commodatum an enormous building (500 sq.m.), with a piece of land attached. The structure is in a remote area of the Veneto countryside, and looks perfect for this purpose. Fitting work will be very expensive (ca. Euro 100,000), but finally we will be able to carry out our activity efficiently and usefully! I would like to remind you that the board of directors (including its president) work without payment, for purely charitable purposes.

      I kindly ask you to help us financially but also to popularize this appeal to people or public institutions that could contribute to this great project. Ask for further copies!

Fasan Animal Sanctuary

      Many animals need us , and given the possibility, we would save them all, but we have limited means! The realization of this project would enable us to intervene in all those instances for which we are now helpless!
